What NAD+ Is

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a substance the body makes naturally and uses to turn food into energy. The amount the body has tends to go down with age. NAD+ therapy delivers NAD+ directly, as an IV or as an injection.

Two Ways to Receive NAD+

  • NAD+ IV: NAD+ given through an IV line in a single visit.
  • NAD+ monthly injections: a monthly program of small injections under the skin (subcutaneous).

NAD+ IV or NAD+ Injections?

The NAD+ IV is a single, longer visit, with the patient seated while the drip runs. The monthly injections are short visits that repeat as a program. The choice depends on the patient’s schedule, goals and the medical review.

Who NAD+ Is For

NAD+ therapy is for adults who want support with low energy, recovery or performance and who prefer a therapy given by a medical provider.

Who NAD+ Is Not For

NAD+ therapy may not be appropriate for patients who:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Have heart, kidney or liver disease that is not controlled.
  • Are in active cancer treatment, unless their oncologist has approved it.
  • Have a known allergy to an ingredient of the product.

Medical history and current medications are reviewed before starting.

What to Expect at the Visit

  1. Medical history, current medications and treatment consent are reviewed.
  2. For the NAD+ IV, a small line is placed in a vein in the arm and the drip runs at a comfortable pace.
  3. For the injections, a small injection is given under the skin.
  4. The schedule for the following visits is agreed.

NAD+ Is Not the Same as an IV or a Peptide

NAD+ is its own treatment. The Recovery IV is an IV for hydration and recovery and does not contain NAD+. Peptide therapy uses different prescribed medications, chosen in a consultation.

What an NAD+ IV Feels Like

During an NAD+ IV, some patients feel pressure in the chest, nausea, flushing or stomach cramps if the drip runs too fast. These sensations ease when the drip is slowed. For that reason NAD+ is given slowly, and the visit is longer than a regular IV. Clinical research on NAD+ given by IV or injection is still limited.
