Lip Filler & Dermal Fillers in Dania Beach, near Fort Lauderdale
Dermal fillers fill sunken areas and deep folds while adding shape and definition to the face. At Injection Lab, lip filler and all other filler treatments are performed by Kendally Guardia, PA-C, with advanced training in facial anatomy and ultrasound-guided injection techniques.
What a Dermal Filler Is
The fillers used at Injection Lab are made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that is naturally present in the skin. The filler is a soft gel placed under the skin to restore volume or to shape an area. The goal is natural-looking results.
Areas Treated with Filler
- Lip filler: shape and definition for the lips.
- Under eye filler: for the hollow area under the eyes.
- Temple filler: volume for the temples.
- Liquid rhinoplasty: a non-surgical way to refine the shape of the nose with filler.
- Cheeks, chin, jawline, smile lines and jowls.
- Full face balancing & harmonization.
Facial Balancing
Facial balancing starts with a full facial assessment and a customized treatment plan. It addresses multiple areas while keeping facial harmony. The plan can include hyaluronic acid filler, Radiesse or both: filler to restore volume and refine proportions, Radiesse for deeper structural support or collagen restoration.
Who Dermal Fillers Are For
Fillers are for adults who want to restore volume lost with aging, soften deep folds, or add shape and definition to the lips, cheeks, chin, jawline or nose. Wrinkles that appear only with facial movement respond to wrinkle relaxer injections, not to filler.
Who Dermal Fillers Are Not For
Filler may not be appropriate for patients who:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Have an active skin infection or a cold sore outbreak in the area.
- Have a known allergy to hyaluronic acid filler or to lidocaine.
- Have a history of severe allergic reactions.
Medical history and current medications, including blood thinners, are reviewed before treatment.
Ultrasound Guidance
When appropriate, ultrasound is used to see the anatomy, locate product and guide the procedure. In aesthetics, ultrasound is a guide for the treatment.
Ultrasound-Guided Filler Dissolving
Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Injection Lab offers ultrasound-guided filler dissolving: the ultrasound is used to locate the filler before it is dissolved. It is an option for patients with filler placed elsewhere that they want removed or corrected. See aesthetic ultrasound.
What to Expect at the Visit
- Medical history and treatment consent are completed.
- The face is assessed and the plan is agreed: areas and number of syringes.
- The filler is placed in the selected areas.
- The result is reviewed with the patient before leaving.
Fillers, Wrinkle Relaxers or Radiesse?
Filler fills sunken areas and adds shape and definition. Wrinkle relaxer injections smooth wrinkles caused by facial movement. Radiesse is a biostimulator that stimulates the body’s own collagen; hyaluronic acid fillers are not biostimulators. For the area under the eyes, PRP under eyes and PRF Biofiller / Bio Gel are other options.
How Long Filler Lasts
Hyaluronic acid filler is temporary. How long it lasts depends on the product, the area and the patient: in general terms, from several months to more than a year. Areas that move a lot, like the lips, tend to fade sooner than areas with less movement, like the cheeks or the chin. Some swelling or bruising in the area can appear during the first days.
Downtime and Aftercare
Swelling, tenderness and some bruising in the treated area are expected. They settle over several days and can take up to two weeks, and the lips tend to swell more than other areas.
- Apply a cool compress on and off during the first day.
- Avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours.
- Avoid intense heat, such as saunas, hot tubs and sunbathing, until the swelling has gone down.
- Do not massage or press on the area unless instructed.
- Sleep with the head slightly raised the first night.
Written aftercare instructions are given at the visit. Contact the practice right away about strong or increasing pain, skin that turns pale, blotchy or dusky, or any change in vision.

Which areas can be treated with filler?

Is ultrasound used in every treatment?
